The FIRST Tech Challenge is a scaled-down version of the FIRST Robotics Competition. During some years, Blue Cheese rookies (all new members) participate in this program as an introduction to the world of FIRST. We compete as FTC Team 93 (Blue Cheese Jr.) In 2016-17, we opted to instead mentor a new team coached by one of our alumni. Teams are given a different challenge every year and are required to build and program a robot using only a standard kit of parts provided to each team. FTC Robots are much smaller than FRC robots and must fit within an 18" by 18" by 18" cube. The FIRST web site has interesting stats in an infographic you can view here.
